Meet Ellyn Broderick

How are you involved with Improv Cincinnati?

I'm a member of IC's Hot Mic, where we improvise an entire musical!

When did you start doing improv?
I’ve been unofficially doing improv since I was very young. My parents have always made up songs and silly characters, so acting and improvising has always been something that’s been a part of my life. But officially, I’ve been consistently doing improv for the last two years.

What is your favorite thing about improv?
My favorite thing about improv is the freedom to create and play. Being able to give yourself permission to play and maybe (probably) be totally ridiculous is a powerful tool that translates to so many other areas of life. That and the people, the people are some of the best and most supportive people there are.

Do you have any fun facts you'd like to share?
Toast is one of my favorite things ever. I will ALWAYS make toast regardless of how late this might sometimes make me in the morning.

I LOVE organizing and tidying up! I begged my mom for a Swiffer when they first came out, and she did in fact get me one.
