Description: Improv Scenework Workshop focusing on playing the first unusual thing




SkillSets Series - SkillSets are open workshops for the Cincinnati improv community to meet up, collaborate, learn, and play.

SkillSets provides improvisers with the opportunity for deliberate practice, honing a skill with purposeful intention. Workshops will be facillitated by a variety of individuals including veteran Cincinnati improvisers, skilled experts, and Improv Cincinnati instructors.

Matt Starr

Matthew S. Starr is a comedy writer/actor living in NYC. 

As a Writer/Performer at Above Average, Matthew created and hosted the weekly talk show We've Got Questions, starred in the weekly scripted series Personal Business, lead the editorial writing team, and was featured in numerous sketches featured on the site's social media outlets.  

Matthew has written for television programs on MTV, MTV2, and TruTV, as well as the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Matthew has contributed writing to CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, and Splitsider. His short film, Grief: A Comedy, was featured in the LA Indie Film Fest. He also wrote all of the comedic remarks for the 2015 Chef's Roast, a charity gala in Washington D.C. featuring Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Richard Blais.  

He has appeared in the Verizon Go90 series Thanksgiving, Mike Birbiglia's Don't Think Twice, and in videos featured on AV Club, CollegeHumor, Cracked, UCB Comedy, Huffington Post, and many other web sites.   

Matthew hosts Unteachables at Caveat. Unteachables is a monthly show where Academia's top teachers try to teach NYC's funniest comedians. Matthew performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City with The Fix. He is an alumni of the UCB Touring Company.
