Elective: Relationships - Play With Your Heart
August 16 - September 20
In this class, we will explore one of the basic building blocks of improv scenes: relationships.
This six week, two-hour course is designed to identify and explore relationships and emotional availability in your scene work. By the end of this course, students will be able to discover and heighten the bonds that exist between their characters on stage.
We will go beyond identifying the relationship (parent/child, lovers, siblings, boss/employee) and we will explore what those relationships mean. We will focus on listening & responding, a scene’s heat & weight, and how to make your partner look good.
Our work will be comedic, dramatic, tragic, tense, and all of the above. Together we will be poets & geniuses.
Classes are weekly for six weeks.
Requirements: Completion of Level 2 or approval from IC staff. Must be 18+ years old.
